070 numbers
070 is the start of a personal number also known as a 'find me anywhere' service. Calls to these numbers are diverted to different numbers as chosen by the owner of the number e.g. diverting from your home phone to your mobile when you are out.070 numbers cost up to 50p per minute from a land line (fixed line phone) but if you call from your mobile call costs will vary and you may be charged more.
Under Ofcom's rules, revenue sharing on 070 personal numbers is prohibited.
PhonepayPlus regulates 070 numbers only if they 'offer' premium rate-style services and the cost of the call exceeds 10p per minute.
We also regulate chatline, premium rate sexual entertaiment and Internet dialler services found to be operating on 070 numbers regardless of the call cost.
