The Code, which will take effect on 4 January 2007, will improve consumer protection and clarify accountability for the providers of services in the £1.6 billion per year premium rate market. Click here to view the accompanying press release ____________________________________________________________________ ICSTIS PUBLISHES RESEARCH ON KEY TRENDS IN THE COMMUNICATIONS SECTOR (Note: Large file - 1.64MB) (8 November) icstis has today, for the first time published a document evaluating key trends in the communications sector relevant to the scope and nature of icstis regulation. The document contains a researched assessment of key developments in the paid-for-content and premium rate environments, paying particular attention to the future of payment mechanisms, platform convergence and consumer protection issues. The document does not seek to reach fundamental conclusions on the breadth or depth of present or future regulation, but analyses market developments with a view to informing the forthcoming review of the scope of premium rate regulation.
